I certainly don't bounce back from 'em like I use to.
Yesterday we went to the annual Jersey Shore Rugby Tournament. It was about 95 degrees with 65 percent humidity. We were basically playing in a sauna. Additionally, I kind of tweaked by back on a series of plays.
Normally I would have bounced back from grueling conditions and minor injuries in no time. Usually by the car ride back I can be good to go tackle the next adventure (this was in high school when I was consuming nearly 5,000 calories a day). Those days have changed.
I went to bed last night at 11 PM and woke up at 9 AM with my back still sore. It wasn't the level it was yesterday, but still, it was sore.
Dude, what's going on? I am really getting that old? Bummer.

In other news, I've begun reading "A Clockwork Orange" by Anthony Burgess. I saw the movie and liked it so I'm trying the book on for size. This ultra-violence laden novella is interesting so far. There are a lot of made up words and slang that I am not quite sure, but can figure out through process of elimination. I'm only a few chapters in, so they haven't begun to experiment on Alex (the protagonist) yet, but based on the vivid descriptions and use of language, I'm looking forward to those chapters.
stretch. stretch. strech. also KEEP HYDRATED. trainer told me on Friday #1 cause of cramps and muscle soreness is improper hydration. Not that you have ever had a problem with that!

When you're done with the book, be sure to watch the movie. Dude... really....

Dude, I KNOW! My right knee now just kind of...hurts. Not a bad hurt, but a bit of an achy one that I notice when I'm walking down the stairs. AND my left hip flexor area is sore and for some reason I can't really kick a ball with my left foot without it bothering me. The hell? When did I get old? I think, if I act like I'm 12, I should still get to feel like I'm 12 without physical repercussions, ya know?

Just don't hurt something that is going to hound you for life. I am really starting to feel old. I am 38, and my achilles tendons hurt everyday. On somedays I limp. My pride is greatly injured on these days. It is ridiculous. I took so much asprin a month or so ago for it (and other things) that I poisoned myself and had this terrible head buzzing sound going on. Weird. Just weird.
On the other hand I have friends in their 50's who are in terrific shape. I think probably as things start to go downhill, you either keep heading that way or start excercising and taking care of your body. I bet I will be in better shape in ten years than I am right now.

Dude, your sister wrote a completely inane post about country music and Kelly Clarkson. Do you suppose her age is showing?
